Martha Brazoban, AIA, Co-Founder Women Construct. She is also CEO & Founder M. B. Architectural Design and Consulting. As the founder of M.B. Architectural design Martha works with home owners and commercial clients. Martha is the former Director of the Local Law 11 Unit at the New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA), where she led a team of architects, engineers and construction professional in the inspection and repair of NYCHA’s 1,500 building subject the NYC Façade Inspection Law. The LL11 Unit worked closely with the NYC Department of Buildings and external design professional in maintaining the building facades.
Prior to working with the LL11 Unit, Martha was Deputy Director of the Office of Design in the New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA), Martha lead a team of architects, and design professionals. The Office of Design works closely with engineers and construction managers at NYCHA, in addition to coordinating with numerous other New York City agencies to define design principles and develop guidelines to improve the quality of NYCHA’s interior and exterior spaces. NextGeneration NYCHA guides the preservation of New York City’s public housing portfolio, the largest in the nation, and the creation of clean, safe, and connected communities with healthy living environments.
Martha was born in the Dominican Republic and raised in New York City. She has a bachelor’s degree in architecture from The Bernard and Anne Spitzer School of Architecture at City College of New York and is a licensed architect in New York and New Jersey with membership in the American Institute of Architecture (AIA). She holds a leadership position as Co-Chair of the AIA’s New Jersey Women in Architecture Committee.
