Angelena Edwards a civil engineer specializing in construction management. She holds a BS in Civil Engineering from Rutgers University, a MS in Construction Management from Stevens Institute of Technology, and a MS in Civil Engineering from New York University Polytechnic Institute-Tandon School of Engineering. She has been certified as a project management professional.
She started her career with the New York State Department of Transportation as a Transportation Construction Inspector. She worked for Public Service Electric and Gas Company as an Engineer on electric distribution projects and managed the new business department. She went on to work for the PSEG Service Company as an Environmental Remediation Project Manager in the Environmental Health and Safety Department remediating Manufacturing Gas Plant sites. Her project management career also includes data center commissioning of uninterruptible power sources for Piller Power Systems. She is currently a Senior Project Manager for New York City Housing Authority Capital Projects Division where she oversees capital improvements-architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical and plumbing for residential buildings spanning 320 developments and a portfolio valued over $300M.
As an advocate for STEM education, she is a board member for the National Society of Black Engineers. The goal of this organization is to increase the number of black engineers and create a pipeline of future engineers. She is also currently a Science and Technology Entry Program Math Instructor at Vaughn College of Aeronautics and Technology in Flushing, NY.
